The song that unwittingly started a project, this was the demo of a stylistic notion and DIY approach written, performed, recorded, and “mixed” at home by Nick Foster in the fall of 2020. After sending the demo bounce around to a couple of friends and scheduling what would become the first Talk Soon collaboration, the files of the recording session were lost in transfer of the home studio to a new computer. All that remained was the original demo, heard here after some 2023 mastering love by Brandon Busch. It was a poetically balanced trade, the loss of something in exchange for the start of something- as all change and growth is; an eponymous ‘Goodbye To Who I’ve Been’ and new beginning.
